The drive in itself is spectacular, providing close-up glimpses of its tropical woodland, which leads to the wonderful surprise of Chacala. Playa Chacala
Playa Chacala is a romantic beach, with gentle surf and smooth sand all encompassed by palm trees. It’s easy to relax here, and we offer many ways to do it. On the beach alone, you are welcome to bask in the sun, swim, snorkel, or even surf! If you like boating or whale watching, then you’re in for a real treat.

Once a week, there is a market event, which is not to be missed. You can see handmade artworks or crafts, and much more. Don’t forget to bring home a souvenir!

There are many hikes around, one in particular on the volcano itself. It’s long extinct, so no need to worry, but the past eruptions created a lush, organic soil that allows the plants to thrive. The flowers and trees create a spectacular ambiance as you hike the volcano.
